Churchill başarıyı şöyle tanımlamış:

“Başarı, hezeyandan hezeyana, istekte bir azalma olmaksızın gidebilme gücüdür.”

Dün izlediğimiz bir filmden aklımda kalan sözlerdi bunlar.

Umarım her şey yolundadır.
Göçmenlik planlarınız tıkırında gidiyordur.

Okulda yapılan bir oylamada İpek’in şiiri en güzel şiirler arasına girdi ve Arbor Day’de İpek şiirini Mayor’ın (Belediye Başkanı’nın) önünde okudu. Bugün bu yüzden kızların okuluna gidip Arbor Day kutlamalarına katıldım. Ardından eve gelip ebru yaptım. Şimdi ise 10 dakika sonra çıkıp ebru malzemelerimle tekrar kızların okuluna gideceğim; orada 5th grade hangout etkinliğinde öğrencilere gönüllü olarak ebru yaptıracağım.

İpek siteye yorum yazmış, demek ki siteyi takip ediyor. O zaman buradan da söyleyeyim:

The Story of a Splendid Seed

On a breezy summer morning, a tiny seed drops.
It falls down, with a plop,
Like a raindrop.

It stays that way for a while,
The sun warms it with an enchanting smile.

Then a dog looks for its junk pile.
The baby tree stays immobile.
The dog races toward the seed,
It increases its velocious speed.
It rushes and races, knocking down weeds,
It digs to look for the bone it buried,
Spattering dirt all over the weeds
That shelter the helpless little seed.

The weeds are wrecked, the seed is smothered,
Then slowly, one after another,
Raindrops send the dog running for cover.

They moisten the dirt and turn it to soil,
They embroil the seed,
Up from the ground,
With soil to surround it.
Trees abound it,
With nothing to down it,
The seed works past mounds.

When it grows into a tree,
What a lovely one it’ll be!
I can imagine hives and bees
On that wondrous beauty.
Maybe I’ll build a house in that tree,
And up there, I might have afternoon tea!
